"Larry" cheesemakers' union is a non-profit organization, which was founded in 2001 to contribute to cheese production in Armenia, particularly to small and average enterprises. The organization works on the benefit of its members. Currently the union consists of eleven members, which have cheese producing factories in the regions of Armenia and regarded as the best in the territory. "Larry" cheesemakers' union regularly provides its members with the necessary supplies, the most part of which is imported from abroad. So far union member cheesemakers have been provided with buckets, boxes, cheese packing bags, latex at comparatively low prices, which was possible with the assistance of the USDA MAP (United States Department of Agriculture Marketing Assistance Project).

The union coordinates exportation of cheese products. It establishes contacts with foreign partners-importers, controls the preparatory works.

For legislative reforms the union negotiated with the Ministry of State Incomes and fostered rise in the utmost volume of the Simplified tax. (On December 26, 2002 The National Assembly accepted an amendment concerning money circulation, which resulted in the rise of the utmost volume of the simplified tax from 30 million AMD to 50 million AMD).

The union makes marketing investigations in home market, provides all the necessary information concerning changes in home and foreign markets, assists in searching new partners and commodity markets.

The skilled personnel gives consultations to union members on various questions about sanitary-hygienic state of the factories and provides them with methodological manuals.
